WATERCOLOUR
Watercolour has always been one of my main mediums, and I use it both for quick playful sketches and more detailed projects. Below is a collection of some of my favourite pieces, some of which feature in the Skaska zine.

Slavic Echoes
This illustration represents my deep appreciation and nostalgia for the summers of my childhood spent in a small village in Ukraine, surrounded by my grandmother's family. I look back on those memories with love, and I hope to one day teach my future children about the traditions and customs of my ancestors.

Tethered for Eternity
This is a reworked version of the 2021 illustration that was originally drawn as part of a Slavic Echoes project, which was an attempt to get further in touch with my roots. This artwork was inspired by my research into Slavic folk art, especially the intricate beadwork and embroidery patterns in traditional dress. The original illustration portrayed only the woman on a plain background, the focus solely being on her intricate clothing. The new version is more detailed and personal, featuring elements that are inspired by the summers I spent in a village in Ukraine as a child.
